On Wednesday 5th June, star of Dragons’ Den and renowned entrepreneur, Peter Jones CBE, welcomed celebrities, entrepreneurs and business leaders to the Peter Jones Foundation’s annual Charity Golf Day, held at the exclusive Bearwood Lakes Golf Club.
Footballer, Alan Shearer CBE; former Olympic Swimmer, Mark Foster; Presenters, Jenni Falconer and Zoe Hardman, Former London Wasps Rugby Player, Paul Doran Jones and Entrepreneur & Musician, Levi Roots were among the one hundred attendees who helped raise over £50,000 for the Peter Jones Foundation.
Over the years, the success of the fundraising events has helped the Foundation raise over £2.2million and allowed them to expand the scope of their work, which aims to encourage, educate and empower young people to achieve their potential.
After hearing from the Foundation’s Chairman, Peter Jones CBE, and four of its young beneficiaries, guests bid generously in the afternoon’s live auction, which included a variety of one-of-a kind luxury items and experiences. Jonny Gould returned as the auctioneer and proved that he is unsurpassed as a humorous raiser of funds.
Auction highlights included:
- A private box at Wembley Stadium for the Community Shield
- A one-of-a-kind painting of an endangered elephant, painted live, by artist and former premiership Rugby player, Ed Williamson
- A six-night holiday at The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah
- An exclusive dinner for eight people, cooked by Levi Roots
Peter Jones CBE said: “I am delighted that our annual charity golf day has continued to grow in scale and popularity, allowing us to raise vital funds to support children and young people across the country.
“I set up the charity in 2005 with a vision to encourage, educate and empower young people to realise their potential and achieve great things.
“The financial boost that days like today provide for the Peter Jones Foundation is integral to our continued success and I really am grateful to all of our supporters for their generous donations.”
