Stars club together to support Peter Jones Foundation

Denise van Outen, one of the UK’s best known stars, joined Peter Jones CBE in a competition to be crowned ‘Top Golfer’ at the Peter Jones Foundation’s Annual Charity Golf Day on 27 September.

Taking place at the exclusive Bearwood Lakes Golf Club in Berkshire, star of Dragons’ Den Peter Jones CBE and Denise van Outen went head-to-head with influential individuals from the world of business in the annual Golf Challenge.

The fundraising event is in aid of the Peter Jones Foundation, which aims to encourage, educate and empower young people in enterprise. A huge total of over £60,000 was raised.

The guest speaker for the day was PJEA alumni Jack Brookes who graduated from Dudley College in 2017. He told the captivated golfers how, since graduating, he has gone on to run two successful businesses which is set up whilst at the Academy. His businesses are a nursery in his hometown which now has over 35 children, and SwiftShot Airborne Services which is a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) based company that offers bespoke drone services in aerial photography, videography, surveying, inspection and security.

Peter Jones CBE said, “I’m thrilled that our annual Charity Golf Day has continued to be such a successful event helping us to raise vital funds which allow us to support the UK’s budding young entrepreneurs.

The money raised for the Peter Jones Foundation will ensure that we’re closer to achieving our mission of embedding enterprise at the heart of the UK’s education system.”
