The Peter Jones Foundation today (Monday 23rd March) announced the cancellation of their annual festival of enterprise and entrepreneurship, EntFest, which was scheduled to take place on Friday 19th June, 2020.
Executive Chairman of the Peter Jones Foundation, Jonathon Sobczyk Boddington said:
“The world is in an unprecedented situation with the global pandemic of COVID-19 and public health and the safety of our beneficiaries is our main priority. Considering the recent government advice to avoid non-essential contact and public gatherings, we feel that it is no longer appropriate to stage the event.
“We know how disappointing this news will be for the thousands of attendees signed-up to join us at EntFest 2020 – the students who were to celebrate entrepreneurship and the future of work, the ambitious young people who were to showcase their businesses, and our event partners who generously offered their time and expertise.
“We are extremely grateful for all the support we have received from schools, students, educationalists and of course our partners at the University of Buckingham in the lead-up to EntFest 2020. Whilst we appreciate that this will be disappointing to many, we assure you that we are as committed as ever to supporting our beneficiaries and providing them with invaluable enterprise opportunities.”
“We know that there will be many questions from the schools, colleges, sixth forms and organisations that were due to attend EntFest on Friday 19th June, please do get in touch. In the coming weeks we will share regular updates on our website and social media channels that will celebrate enterprise and support our beneficiaries, their teachers and parents by providing fun, engaging and valuable resources and challenges.”
